Cappy turns photos of your study notes into short quiz games. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version
We use your Google name, email and photo to sign you in and save your progress. Photos of your notes are sent to our AI provider to make questions, and we don't keep them on our servers. We never sell your data and we don't show ads.
Cappy (cappy.in) is run by Rahul Kumar in India. For anything about your data, email team.cappyclub@gmail.com.
Cappy only uses your camera while the Snap screen is open, and only after you allow it. The live picture is checked on your own phone to find the edges of the page. Nothing is sent anywhere until you press the shutter or pick a photo.
Some things are saved only in your browser on your phone, for example your settings, recent progress and the questions made from your recent photos (kept for up to 7 days so the same photo doesn't need to be read twice). Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Only the services that run Cappy, and only what they need:
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it for ads. We would only share it with authorities if the law requires us to.
Cappy is made for school and exam students. If you're under 18, please use Cappy with your parent's or guardian's permission. Parents and guardians can email us at any time to see or delete their child's data.
We keep your account and progress for as long as you use Cappy. To delete your account and everything linked to it, email team.cappyclub@gmail.com from the email you signed in with. We'll delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also remove Cappy's access from your Google account settings at any time.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and each student's records are locked so that only they can read them. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll tell you in the app.
